My massage journey

My interest in holistic health and massage started a few years ago when I started exploring martial arts classes, and learnt Tai Chi and Qi Gong with a teacher in Sheffield. During this time, I had also received acupunture and massage for overall health, and had always had a quiet confidence in the ability of holistic treatment and therapy to treat, heal and strengthen the body.

I am currently working towards a 3 year Shiatsu course at the Shiatsu College in Manchester, pursuing my interest in the ancient Japanese healing art, which has roots in traditional Chinese medicine (TCM). I hope to use Shiatsu as a standalone treatment once I am fully qualified, but for now I offer it as an addition to a standard massage when clients express an interest.

I decided to train in massage while I was traveling through Cambodia, when my wife bought me a voucher for a lymphatic drainage massage workshop. This led to a year living in Japan and learning massage from a Japanese physical therapist, followed by a comprehensive level 3 diploma in holistic massage, which I completed with Bodyology in Sheffield in 2025 (CPD includes a joint mobilisation workshop in 2026).

Bringing the massage to you
I wish to provide clients with a treatment that is the best possible reflection of the training I have received, and the experience that I have gained over time. My massage teachers are truly exceptional people, and I wish to show that in a good light! I will work with you to make your massage as relaxing, revitalising and suited to your body as possible.

What I love about giving massage
I have been giving massage since 2025, and I am convinced that every individual can sense and integrate touch as part of their personal journey towards restoration. My favourite moment is sensing in my client the conversation that is going on in their body, often through different levels of tension in their muscles, and being able to influence that conversation, to be able to say with my hands: "you can relax, let go, it's safe to say 'no' to doing..". I think we all have that ability within our bodies to heal, and to return to a state of balance, and say 'Yes!' to the parasympathetic system. I feel that giving someone massage is to be in the privileged prosition of accompanying them as they rediscover a deep well of peace within themselves.

One of my lasting memories of receiving treatment at a Thai massage centre in Cambodia is having to make the journey home afterwards. Anyone who knows what travelling through hot busy cities in South East Asian countries is like can probably appreciate what a challenge this presented after receiving an amazing massage and being totally relaxed! I believe that for most of us, the journey home after massage can be a stressful, or even impossible part of the package. So if it is something you wish to consider, I can bring my table and the massage to the comfort of your home. Then you only need to let me take my table home afterwards!
